Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data MeterDesk collects when you visit this website or buy a licence, why we collect it, and the rights you have. We keep data collection to what we need to run the shop and deliver your licences.

What we collect

• Account data: your name, email address and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
• Order data: billing name and address, email, your VAT number if you buy as a business, and your purchase history.
• Licence data: the licence keys issued to you and their activation status.
• Payment data: handled by our payment provider Mollie. We receive a confirmation of payment, not your full card details.
• Technical data: server logs and essential cookies needed to keep you logged in and to run the cart and checkout.

Why we use it, and on what basis

• To process your order and deliver your licence (performance of a contract).
• To run your account and provide support (performance of a contract).
• To meet tax and accounting obligations, such as keeping invoices (legal obligation).
• To keep the site secure and working (legitimate interest).

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: the session, cart and login cookies that WooCommerce needs to function. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers needed to run the shop:

• Mollie (Netherlands) for processing payments.
• TransIP (Netherlands) for website hosting and email.

These providers act on our instructions and are bound to protect your data. Your data is stored within the European Union.

How long we keep it

We keep invoice and order data for as long as Dutch tax law requires, which is currently seven years. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it or close your account, after which we remove what we are not legally required to retain.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG/GDPR) you can ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict or transfer your personal data, and you can object to certain processing or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email meterdesk@bvbav.nl. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Security

The site runs over HTTPS and we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
